The IOS English Challenge

On June 19th we began the English Challenge Days at IOS Neukirchen!

Early in the morning Emmi from IOS School Radio made the anouncement over the loudspeaker and the contest started! The goal, to motivate the students to speak English not only in the lessons when requested by the teachers, but to make them want to speak English with each other and the teachers in the breaks, at the recess, out on the playground and basically chat with each other in English. To achieve this every teacher in the school was given a pocket full of multi colored chips which they could give out every time they saw a student speaking English. The chips could be collected then, and when the pupil reached a large amount, they could be turned in for a prize!

45 small prizes were won by the students! With the most chips being collected by: Anna (7a) with 34 chips (first to fourth: Anna 7a, Stella 5b, Luise 7a, Ruby 6a).
