During the winter vacations, the students of the International Secondary School and Reinsdorf Grammar School once again went to winter camp in Schöneck. There was a lot going on there again this year. There was no snow and we couldn't go skiing or snowboarding, but there was a plan B.
After our arrival on the first day, we went on an excursion to the Schöneck local history museum and then walked to the "Alter Söll", a rock in the center of the town. In the evening, we had a lot of fun playing games in the youth hostel.
On Tuesday, we went on a trip to the ski jump in Klingenthal. When we saw the ski jump from below, everyone was really impressed. The "Wieli", a summer toboggan run, took us all the way to the top in icy temperatures. There we had a very interesting guided tour with a former ski jumper, who explained a lot about the competition procedures in ski jumping. In the evening, we went on an exciting walk with the night watchman from Schöneck.
The next day started in a gym with various sports games. Geocaching took place in the afternoon. It was great fun looking for the clues, even if we didn't find them all. In the evening, we played darts and table tennis in the youth hostel.
After breakfast on Thursday, everyone went swimming at the IFA Hotel. After lunch, we set off together on the return journey by train.
Our conclusion: as every year, the winter camp was super varied!
